Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy (RLT) is a therapeutic treatment that uses red LEDs to produce low-level wavelengths that penetrate the skin in a non-invasive way.

RLT lights are effective because of their ability to reach deep into the skin without damaging it. RLT lights can penetrate 2-7 centimeters into inner skin layers to reach muscles, nerves, and bones effectively.

The warmth we feel from the sun is infrared light. Infrared light does not contain ultraviolet rays.

Benefits of Red Light Therapy

Improved Skin Health

Red light can penetrate our top layer of skin and into the deep levels of skin called the dermis. This is where our collagen, elastin, and other essential proteins reside. Red light photons are absorbed by our cells and converted to energy. This energy produced can then stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) resulting in overall improved skin appearance.

Wound Healing

Red light therapy can help minimize scar tissue as it helps boost circulation and brings more oxygen to the area. Many experts believe that because of excess energy from red light therapy, our cells gain an enhanced ability to repair and restore themselves. This creates healing in skin and muscle tissues. The quicker cells can regenerate and repair, the faster wounds can heal.

Improved Blood Circulation

Red light therapy increases the energy in cells which aids in better blood circulation. This gives them the required energy to trigger physiological effects, including boosted blood flow.
